Drum Bonanza

TJ and Beck did a little sprucing up yesterday and this picture shows how it ended up. There’re other sets not shown here as well as more coming in all the time. We’ve got a bunch of new/used/vintage kits in, and the new Gretsch Brooklyn kits have been flying out the door!  We’ve sold a bunch off the floor and special ordered some too – they’re doing really well.  Keep in mind that Gretsch has a deep Brooklyn heritage and being in the shadow of the original Gretsch factory is big for us. At least once a week I’ll take a tourist outside and point south on Wythe to just past the bridge where you can see one of the original factory buildings. But you locals know this already…….

We’ve also got new DW, PDP, Ludwig, and some gorgeous Canopus kits kicking around all looking for new homes. And judging by the piles of gear that we’ve seen come in for repair after our friend Sandy’s visit, some of you may need help getting into replacement drums. We’re sympathetic to your plight and we’ll try to help you out on replacing your drums or hardware if it was destroyed. Mention this blog post and we’ll cut you some sort of break.

I hope all is well with you, blog readers, and as always, come on down and say hello.

Pedal Stations Are GO

Inspired by the Stompbox Exhibit last month, we have set up a couple of pedal boards out on our floor with a selection of pedals that will be rotated regularly. They have the same Line 6 Pocket PODs as the Stompbox exhibit, which we will also be stocking.

Also, we are on Instagram! Follow @maindragmusic for some juicy gear photos and more silliness..

If your amp is water damaged

A lot of people had flooding in their practices spaces and homes. If you have a tube or solid state amp that was water damaged, DO NOT POWER IT ON! Not only is it dangerous, but you can cause more damage to the amp. We have set up a drying area here in the shop for amp evaluations. Mercury Magnetics (as they did in the Nashville flood) very kindly are offering their services. Wet transformers will be sent to their facility to be dried and tested for free, minus shipping cost. If a transformer is damaged, rewinding will be done at a highly discounted price. Not only are on they on the right side of tone, but once again, helping the music community. I can’t stress it enough, be safe and never plug in water damaged gear. Email me if you have any questions.

We’re back in action……

……and it’s business as usual here at the old Main Drag, and we sure hope that those of you who’ve been clobbered by winds and water are recovering.  And as electricity is important to lots of us, those without are unable to play.  While we don’t specialize in disaster relief per se if you need an outlet to plug in a phone, computer, or desperately need to plug into an amp, c’mon down and we’ll help.

Best to all,

More pics from The Deli’s Stomp Box Exhibit…..

Thanks to all of you for coming and massive thanks to Paolo at the Deli and the many people that made these two days a huge success!

It takes all kinds.

People were smiling.

Jam packed.

Heather and Paolo staring down the lens.

Beck selling yet another drumset over the phone.

Not much room.

Ryan the shredmaster.

Even a drummer or two dared to enter.

Aerial view.

And readers are always welcome too.

Karl, the man that started it all, and Lex who’s been a MDM regular since the beginning.

More huddled masses.

Instruments other than guitar were welcome.

Another shot from the blimp.

The New Guy kicking some butt.

Ricky with a giant tee from Vemuram.

Analog Aliens.

Paolo, the man behind The Deli talking to David who was hugely helpful in making this happen.  Cheers guys!

Pedals On The Brain

So the Stompbox exhibit was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came out to try new pedals, to The Deli Mag, and the manufacturers who sent in pedals to make it one of our busiest weekends ever. In addition to the lines we carried before, we now stock pedals by Diamond, Keeley, SubDecay, ModTone, Analogman, Amptweaker, Wren and Cuff and Black Cat! If you’ve been looking for that special sound, now is the time to come in and find it.
